Datamaxx Awarded Patent for Process to Improve Criminal Justice Information Sharing Patented process is latest in innovations developed by industry leaders at Datamaxx Group, Inc. Tallahassee, FL – (January 21, 2015) Datamaxx Group, Inc. (Datamaxx) and Datamaxx Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder Jonathan Waters recently received a patent award from the United States Patent and Trade Office for a technology process that vastly improves criminal justice information sharing.

The patented process, System and Method for Efficient Indexing of Messages in a Law Enforcement Data Network (US 8,849,831), creates and assigns a Universal Message Number (UMN) to responses from law enforcement and criminal justice information requests. This UMN assignment allows the information to be retrieved easily and quickly in future transactions and, in an asynchronous-based industry, simplifies the interconnecting of data. “Essentially, every incoming and outgoing message shared is stamped with this UMN so it can be retrieved quickly, resulting in faster, and therefore improved, information sharing,” stated Jonathan Waters. “The technology immediately indexes four billion messages per day, across multiple servers, and the UMN allows messages to be marshalled and grouped for presentation, no matter their origin or source.” The UMN can be maintained for 30 years and can operate in any law enforcement network, including across multiple state and Federal law enforcement networks such as NCIC (the National Crime Information Center) and Nlets (the International Justice and Public Safety Network). “We are proud to continue to lead innovation in the law enforcement, criminal justice, and public safety information sharing industry,” commented Kay Stephenson, Datamaxx CEO and Co-Founder. “This is just the latest invention developed by the industry-leading minds here at Datamaxx.”

Datamaxx built its reputation on designing and developing ways to improve communication to law enforcement and criminal justice information systems. In addition to several technology patents for its pioneering development of new solutions, three law enforcement communication interface standards are Datamaxx innovations: DMPP-2020 (Datamaxx Message Processing Protocol), DSEO (Datamaxx Standard Embedded Object for image exchange), and OFML (Datamaxx Omnixx Force Markup Language) which are used by 90% of law enforcement agencies and vendors today. In 2003, Datamaxx became the first strategic partner of Nlets (the International Justice & Public Safety Information Sharing Network), offering its customers secure access to state, local, and federal law enforcement, public safety, criminal justice, and homeland security data sources.

Also in 2003, the Datamaxx Secure Cloud became the first FBI CJIS-compliant cloud, and Datamaxx is one of the only privately-held companies to provide a secure cloud in a state-of-the-art network operations center, audited by Nlets and meeting strict FBI CJIS Security Policy requirements.
