Tallahassee, FL – (November 2017) The Datamaxx Group (Datamaxx), led by CEO, President, and Co-Founder Kay Stephenson, was named one of Florida’s 2017 Top Women-Led Businesses by The Commonwealth Institute (TCI), a distinction earned for eleven consecutive years. The rankings are based on an annual survey distributed to roughly 28,000 businesses in Florida and analysis of survey responses by Kaufman Rossin, a South Florida accounting firm. Datamaxx ranked 29th and was the only Northwest Florida-based company included on the list.
The Commonwealth Institute in South Florida is a non-profit organization that helps women entrepreneurs, CEOs, and corporate executives build successful businesses through peer mentoring programs. In addition to looking at the characteristics of women leaders and their businesses and determining the Top 50 Women-Led Businesses, the survey found that the number of women-owned firms has increased by 45% between 2007 and 2016, compared to just a 9% increase among all businesses. This means that over the past nine years, the number of women-owned firms has grown at a rate of five times faster than the national average.
“I’m honored that Datamaxx was recognized as a top women-led business again by The Commonwealth Institute and proud to represent Northwest Florida on the list,” commented Kay Stephenson.
“Hopefully, our recognition will lead to increased awareness of the excellent business climate of Northwest Florida.”
